Baby Feeding Chart

Original chart from Homemade Baby Food Recipes.

In my research and experience, there is no necessary order to introducing solids to baby. However, there are certainly foods of mild flavors that are more palatable that I prefer to start with. Mashing or pureeing your regular food will minimize food prep time.

Baby food is one of the most expensive items on the grocery list, and it doesn't have to be!  Besides buying some iron-fortified baby cereal OR cooking high-iron foods for baby yourself, you can do baby foods on your own. Introducing foods one at a time will eliminate confusion if there is a negative reaction, but that choice is up to you.

All foods should be introduced one at a time to eliminate confusion if there is a negative reaction.

Allow 4 days between introducing new foods.  Once baby has eaten that food with positive results, you can mix it with others because you know it's "safe."

*This food is a common allergen.  Be observant for telltale signs when introducing.

If desired, check food off when introduced.  Add the date to remember specifics or watch for an allergy.

Keep track of other specific foods you introduce (apple juice, ect) at the bottom of each list.
