Steamed Broccoli

Stage 2: 6-9 months

Ingredients:
  • fresh or frozen broccoli, chopped 
  • water
  • opt: real unsalted butter
 Directions:
  1. Microwave: Place broccoli in a bowl with about 1 T water.  Cover and microwave until tender.
  2. Stove: Alternatively, place in a pan with just enough water to cover, and cook on low about 10 minutes.  For adults, salt steamed broccoli or continue to make appropriate for baby.
  3. Blend to desired consistency, making sure to blend out all chunks.  Add butter and more water as necessary.
  4. If desired, thicken your puree with baby cereal as long as your baby has already been introduced to cereal. 
  5. Freeze or refrigerate extra baby food.
