Steamed Cauliflower for Baby

Original recipe from Annabel Karmel's book Top 100 Baby Purees.

Stage 2: 6-9 months

Ingredients:
  • cauliflower, chopped
  • water
  • opt: real unsalted butter
 Directions:
  1. Microwave: Place cauliflower in a bowl with about 1 T water.  Cover and microwave until tender.  
  2. Stove top: Alternatively, place in a pan with just enough water to cover, and cook on low about 10 minutes.  
  3. Blend to desired consistency, making sure to blend out all chunks.  Add butter and more water as necessary.
  4. If desired, thicken your puree with baby cereal.  Also goes well with carrot or sweet potato.
  5. Freeze or refrigerate extra baby food.
