Apple for Baby

Original recipe from Annabel Karmel's book Top 100 Baby Purees.

Stage 1: 6 months

Ingredients:
  • 2 med apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 2 T water
 Directions:
  1. Place apples and water in pot.  Cook over low heat until tender, 6-8 min.
  2. Blend mixture to desired consistency, making sure to blend out all chunks.  
  3. Alternatively, serve baby unsweetened applesauce with minimal additives. Serve lukewarm.   
  4. You can thicken your puree with baby cereal as long as your baby has already been introduced to cereal. 
  5. Freeze or refrigerate extra baby food.
