Stage 1: 6 months
Directions:
Once peeled and mashed or pureed, each of these foods is safe to serve baby. Grapes should be pureed for first introduction, and later served cut into quarters as baby progresses. Food may be thinned with water or baby's usual milk or thickened with cereal as long as your baby has already been introduced to cereal. Refrigerate or freeze extras.
- banana
- avocado
- papaya
Stage 2: 6 to 9 months
- melons
- blueberries
- kiwi (milder taste when mixed with other fruits)
- grapes
Stage 3: 10 to 12 months
- mango
- pineapple
- strawberries (toward the end of this stage and with caution)
Stage 4: 12 months +
- citrus fruits (watch for diaper rashes as these are more acidic)
- other berries
