Freezing Baby Food

Baby food can be frozen in individual servings, so it's as easy to prepare as opening one of those cans from the store!

How to freeze:
If using an ice try, cover with plastic wrap before freezing.  Once frozen, break out each serving and store in an air-tight container, like a freezer bag.  :)

Thawing baby food:
  • Heat in microwave (keep an eye on it--small servings thaw faster than you'd expect!) until steaming hot, then cool it to room temperature
  • Let cool to lukewarm (ok to use the fridge or freeze to speed the process)
  • Serve to baby as is or
  • Mix with another frozen serving to make a fancy meal--the possibilities are endless.  Sweet potato and peas, squash and broccoli, apple and potato...get creative!  Add cereal for a full meal.  :)
