Pesto

Pictured: basil pesto on no-fail pizza dough

Original recipe from Food Network.

Ingredients:
  • 2 c PACKED fresh basil, spinach, parsley, OR cilantro leaves (basil for more conventional taste) *This equals ~6 cups loose leaves in blender!
  • 2 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
  • 1/4 t salt (OR 1/4 t garlic salt in place of last 2 ingredients)
  • 1/2 c sunflower seeds or walnuts
  • 1/2 c olive oil, more as needed
Directions:
  1. Blend all ingredients in a blender or food processor. Add more oil as needed.
  2. Serve with pasta, on pizzas or sandwiches, in a quiche, etc.  Freezes well.
