No special tools needed for this yummy treat--just one big slow cooker. :)
Ingredients:
- 5 1/2 lbs apples, peeled, cored, chopped (or 3 lbs plain applesauce)
- 2 c sugar, or to taste
- 2 t cinnamon
- 1/4 cloves
- 1/4 salt
Directions:
- Dump all ingredients in slow cooker and cook, covered, on high 1 hour.
- Reduce to low and cook, still covered, 9-11 hours.
- Remove lid and cook an hour longer until desired consistency is reached. Use a wire whisk to smooth out lumps.
- Refrigerate or freeze. Serve over bread and toast or mix into yogurt or ice cream.
