Mix'n'match snacks!
Buy in bulk, please everyone, and always have variety. It's a win win win! BUT, try to keep in mind that before going for these goodies, a fresh fruit or vegetable is almost always the better choice. So combine peanuts with some celery, or granola and raisins with an apple. Voila! Fresh.
Here's what we do for the quick mixes:
- Keep lots of jars in the pantry. Or Tupperware, or old Parmesan cheese containers...really your options are endless. The key here is that they're transparent so you know what's where and how much.
- Fill your jars with your favorite snacks! Ours include
- nuts (peanuts, walnuts, almonds, cashews, pistachios)
- dried fruit (apples, raisins, craisins)
- fruit leathers
- seeds (pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds)
- wheat nuts
- shredded coconut
- chocolate chips (white, dark, milk, butterscotch)
- popping corn for diy stovetop or microwave
- hot cocoa mix
- granola
- animal crackers
- pretzels
- Create your snack! Combine the works, or just eat a handful of chocolate chips plain. :) Plus they're ready access for baking or sprinkling on yogurt, oatmeal, or ice cream.
