Stuffing


Original recipe from About: Southern Food.

Ingredients:
  • 1 T olive oil
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 c celery, chopped (about 2 stalks)
  • 4 c hearty bread cubes (about 5 homemade slices)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 t sage
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/4 t pepper
  • 1/4 t parsley
  • 1/2-1 c broth of choice
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 325.  In a med frying pan over med heat, pour oil.  Add onions and celery and saute until soft, about 5 min.
  2. In a med bowl, whisk eggs with spices and broth.  
  3. In a 9x13 pan, scatter bread.  Slowly pour egg/broth mixture over bread until well moistened.  
  4. Bake 35-45 min, stirring 2-3 times during baking time.
