Origional recipe from Two Peas and their Pod.
Yield: about 3 dozen cookies
Ingredients, dough:
- 1 c butter, creamed
- 1 1/2 c sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 t vanilla
- 1/4 t salt
- 1 t soda
- 2 t cream of tartar
- 3 c flour
Ingredients, topping:
- 3 T sugar
- 3 T cinnamon
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 400.
- In a large bowl or kitchenaid, beat butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and cream together until smooth.
- Add dry ingredients until just combined (dough will be crumbly). Roll into balls, about 2 T per cookie.
- In a small bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon. Roll each dough ball into the mixture and place 12 to a cookie sheet.
- Bake 10 minutes. Let cookies cool on sheet 2-5 minutes before transfering to wire rack to cool.
