Snickerdoodles

Origional recipe from Two Peas and their Pod.

Yield: about 3 dozen cookies

Ingredients, dough:

  • 1 c butter, creamed
  • 1 1/2 c sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 t vanilla
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1 t soda
  • 2 t cream of tartar
  • 3 c flour
Ingredients, topping:
  • 3 T sugar
  • 3 T cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400.
  2. In a large bowl or kitchenaid, beat butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and cream together until smooth.
  3. Add dry ingredients until just combined (dough will be crumbly). Roll into balls, about 2 T per cookie.
  4. In a small bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon. Roll each dough ball into the mixture and place 12 to a cookie sheet.
  5. Bake 10 minutes. Let cookies cool on sheet 2-5 minutes before transfering to wire rack to cool.
